I am directed by the Secretary of State for War to transmit herewith, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, a copy of a letter, with enclosures, which has been received from the General Officer Commanding the Troops, Hong Kong, respecting the supply of water from the Colonial water works for the
Sanitarium Barrack at that Station, together with a copy
of a letter which it is proposed to send in reply thereto
2. I am to request that you will have the goodness
to cause Mr Secretary Campbell-Bannerman to be favoured
with the views of the Marquess of Ripon on the matter.
3. I am to observe that in your letter of the 6th
October 1890, and also in the correspondence therewith
forwarded, the point now raised was discussed, and it
was thought that it was fully understood and accepted in
